Half Palace of Westminster Encaustic Tile

Half Palace of Westminster Encaustic Tile

Designed by Palace architect A.W.N. Pugin and originally cast by Mintons of Stoke on Trent, the encaustic floor tiles that can be found throughout the Palace of Westminster have borne witness to some of the most important moments in the history of the United Kingdom – and have been walked upon by some of its most renowned politicians.

Removed as part of a nine-year conservation and restoration project, our half tiles are some of the finest examples of Pugin's neo-gothic designs. Half tiles were often used to complete larger geometric designs, such as those found in Central Lobby.

Each tile comes presented in a branded, satin-lined gift box with a certificate of authenticity that gives information about the encaustic tiles restoration project and and the location within the Palace from which the tile was removed.

  • 15.5cm x 15.5cm
  • Box size 21cm x 21cm
  • Certificate of authenticity included
Please note: As each tile is unique, the tile you receive may vary from that shown in the image.
