Merrythought "Betty" Teddy Bear
Betty is a limited edition teddy bear commissioned by the House of Commons from the iconic British toy maker, Merrythought. She is named after the late Right Honourable Baroness Boothroyd OM, who was the first female Speaker of the House of Commons, and wears a green bow in reference to green forget-me-not bow that features on the Baroness's coat of arms.
Merrythought is Britain's last remaining teddy bear manufacturer. Each bear is still handmade in the same Ironbridge factory where the first bears were produced in 1930.
